Some of my best ideas come from custom requests made by my customers. I got a request to take my lap desk and make it smaller so that it would fit on a desk with a smaller footprint. She wanted to keep her tablet or phone on the stand nest to her computer screen, but had limited room available. After making the custom stand, I showed it to some friends and family members and they all liked the compact design.
This mini stand is similar to my standard lap desk but in a smaller footprint (7.5" deep and 6.5" wide). Perfect for setting on a desk, night stand or end table so you phone or tablet is comfortably visible at all times.
Instead of the removable lip, I added some beautiful furniture grade black walnut to prevent your phone from slipping off the stand and also act as a wrist rest when you are using a stylus. Not only is it functional, the black walnut contrasts nicely with the lighter colored Baltic birch the rest of the stand is made of.
